Me and Ice went to fish Holt lake this morning. It started out cold and windy. We hoped to catch a boat load of fish as Holt has been dishing out some big numbers. We had the task of following up Junior's 89 fish day a couple of weeks ago. Today was a lot tougher . We managed 36 total fish with 12-15 keepers. We caught some nice fish with the biggest about 3 pounds, and I lost a 8+ pounder I just couldn't turn . It was fun watching a fish that size in a foot of clear water trying to get away, and get away she did. I think that guy in a boat almost right beside us was going to faint after it came off. He said he only had 5 bites all day . He was fishing wood in a lake full of grass . He asked if he could follow right behind us to see how we were catching them. We caught almost all of them on a spinnerbait and soon he was catching them too once he got out of that deep water and started throwing a blade. It was a fun day with
Ice (cant believe I said that).

Spinner Baits, spinner baits.....hot dang Rat everyone out there, except for that guy in the boat next to you, that probably followed you home knows that Fall fish love the blades! Sorry to read about the loss of your big fish but, you will get her next time. Glad to read that you and Ice had a good fishing trip.

WOW, I saw the title, "fish with Ice" and I thought you guys had ICE on the lake do there in NC.

Guess I've got some ICE on the brain. It won't be long, well hopefully, I'll be on the ice fishing once again by Christmas.

No ice here. Just Ice the person. He's a transplant from upper New York. You would never know it as much as he complains about being cold . He says it aint the same cold but I just think he's a little loopy
